MEDICINE INDIA ("Company", "We", "Us") operates the website www.medicineindia.in and the Medicine India mobile application. This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, maintain, and disclose information collected from users ("Users", "You") of the App and Website.
We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, DPDP Act 2023, and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

2. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information: Name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email address, delivery address.
b. Health Information: Prescriptions, doctor details, medical history uploaded for ordering prescription medicines. This is Sensitive Personal Data.
c. Transaction Information: Order history, payment details. Note: We do not store card/UPI details. Payments are processed by Razorpay/Cashfree.
d. Device Information: IP address, device model, OS version, app usage data for analytics and fraud prevention.

Providing information is voluntary. Refusing may limit access to ordering medicines and delivery.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use data to:

Process and deliver medicine orders

Verify prescriptions as per Drugs and Cosmetics Rules

Provide customer support and order updates

Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

Improve our App and services

We will never sell your personal or health data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share data only with:

Delivery partners - to deliver your order

Payment gateways - to process payments

Government authorities - if required by law or for pharmacovigilance

5. Data Retention Policy

We retain your data only for as long as necessary:
a. Account Data: Retained until account deletion or 24 months of inactivity, whichever is earlier.
b. Order & Prescription Data: Retained for a minimum of 2 years as required under Rule 65 of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 for pharmacy records.
c. Payment Data: Not stored by us. Retained by payment gateway as per their policy.
d. Once the retention period ends, data is securely deleted or anonymized from our servers.

6. Data SecurityWe use SSL encryption, secure servers, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion Process

As per DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your data.

Note:

We cannot delete order and prescription data that we are legally required to retain for 2 years under pharmacy laws. That data will be anonymized after the legal period.

Our services are not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
